Dave Ware has a mission. He wants the world to play. At age 15, Dave fell in love with improvising, playing theatre games on stage. For decades, he’s continued to challenge his brain, learn new things about how people work, and how to communicate with them. With his love for small brightly coloured things, Dave couldn’t resist the draw of LEGO, with its infinite possibilities, and the way it leads to storytelling and creative ideas.

He’s trained for decades in building ideas, creativity and communication. As a trained Lego Serious Play facilitator, Dave brings out ideas that were just waiting to be heard, and shows people how easy it is to come up with new ones.

Dave Ware – Improvisor

Dave started improvising in 1985, after seeing the amazing work at Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He immediately joined up, and spent decades laughing and learning with some of the world’s finest improv minds. Dave began teaching improv as well, and continues to perform, teach and learn to this day. Dave spent many years performing club improv at various comedy clubs. He’s learned from Dennis Cahill, Graeme Davies, and the world-renowned improv genius Keith Johnstone. Dave has performed in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver Island, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Wellington New Zealand. He can still be found on a Saturday night at Loose Moose, either standing behind the concession, or wandering around the stage, loving every minute of it.

Dave Ware – Brick Artist

Dave loved LEGO as a child, and spent many hours building moonbases, ships, and apartment buildings. After wandering through the toy section at Walmart in the late 90’s, Dave bought a LEGO set, and then another, and another, and was soon hooked again. One night, he decided to try and build a LEGO mosaic of his dog. It worked!!! So he wondered if he could build another picture. He could!!! Dave kept making pictures, and learning how to make larger ones, and how to find enough bricks, eventually ending up at a convention for LEGO builders in Seattle, where he won an award for Best Mosaic.

Since then, Dave has won at least 10 more awards, and built over 100 mosaics, many of them commission pieces. Dave has also build large architectural models and sculptures, including an 8 foot by 8 foot by 8 foot scale model of N3, a condominium building in Calgary’s East Village.
